Volunteers for Child Development:

Before and After School Age Programs
The YMCA Of Central Kentucky offers state-licensed before and after school child care in several elementary and middle schools throughout Fayette County, Scott County and Jessamine County. All locations seek volunteers to be homework helpers, story reading, and assist with children’s activities.

All-Day Programs/Vacation Day Camps/Snow Days
On Records/Conference Days, Snow Days and legal holidays when school is closed (Election Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and President’s Day), the YMCA offers all-day programming at various locations. Snow days are held at the High St YMCA. Program hours are from 7:15am to 6:00pm. Volunteers are needed for activities that include games, crafts, trips, snack and surprises.

Child Development Center
The Y has a quality early childhood center located in our North Lexington branch that serves children 6 weeks through 5 years.  Volunteers are needed to assist in classroom activities like reading stories, building towers out of blocks and pushing a child in a swing on the playground.  If you enjoy young children and want to aid in various developmental stages ... this is the place to be. Contact Susan Nelson at 258-9622.
