Toyota Bluegrass Miracle Leauge Registration Underway

Registration for players and volunteers is underway for the fall season of the Toyota Bluegrass Miracle League and will remain open until August 25. The league will be played on Saturdays at Shillito Park from September 11-October 16.

The Miracle League is a baseball league for children with disabilities played on a special needs accessible field. The field completely is flat and features handicap accessible dugouts to allow for all walking apparatus. Each child gets to hit and run the bases every inning with the last player of each inning getting to run all the way around the bases for a homerun. Each player has a “buddy” each the assists him or her each game with hitting, baserunning and fielding.

Registrations are now being accepted for players and volunteer coaches and buddies. The cost is $40 for players. The age group is 5-19. Registration and volunteer forms can be found at www.bluegrassmiracleleague.org or visit on Facebook at http://tiny.cc/TBML. Forms can be mailed to 239 E High Street, Lexington, KY 40507. Questions should be directed to Kevin Haury at 367-7355 or Kevin@bluegrassmiracleleague.org. Special events scheduled for this spring include:

The Toyota Bluegrass Miracle League is a collaborative effort between The Rotary Club of Lexington and the YMCA of Central Kentucky, with lead sponsorship from BB&T and Toyota. As the first Miracle League field in Kentucky, the League aims to serve as many people as possible in the state of Kentucky.
