YMCA Staffer Selected to Attend Youth Summit in Mexico

Corey Donohoo, a part-time employee at the High Street YMCA, has been selected to participate in the Mano a Mano Youth Summit in Mexico this summer with the YMCA International Group. Corey was chosen as part of a very select group of 14 participants from eight different countries, including just two others from the U.S.

Mano a Mano Youth Summit is organized jointly by the YMCAs of Canada, Mexico and the United States and provides an incredible opportunity to share ideas with youth leaders from across the Western hemisphere. Participants will spend seven days in Tijuana meeting other youth leaders, ages 16-27, from North, Central and South America. Another seven days will be spent working and living in a YMCA border house that helps reunite teenagers with their families who have been caught trying to cross the Mexican border into the United States. Mano a Mano will be held from July 27- August 10.

Through YMCA International, the YMCA currently serves over 45 million youth and families worldwide. In countries throughout the world, YMCA programs respond to local needs identified by each national YMCA movement. The YMCA is open to all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes.
